Family Game Night {homemade puzzle and pictionary} #GluenGlitter ...

Does your family ever plan a Family Game Night? Do you have planned activities and crafts or do you simply play board games and watch movies? How old were your children when you started Family Game Night?

As you know, my son is four years old and, I believe, a little smarter and more advanced than some of his classmates. He lacks some in maturity, but he makes up for it in smart mouth attitude. He gets bored at daycare sometimes because he is still in the 3 year old class (moving up later this month, yay!) so lately he has been getting into some trouble. On the days when he is havving trouble, we make sure we are paying attention and on the days when he has no trouble, we celebrate! He had several great days this week so on Friday, we celebrated with a Family Game Night!!

Pajama Day - Superman jammies

Friday was pajama day at daycare and my boy wore his Superman pajamas. When we picked him up, we headed for Walmart to pick up some supplies for a special evening together.

I made a list with list.ly of a few things that I wanted to look at for our activity and a few other things I knew we needed. Hubby and I talked about making a homemade puzzle with one of the Elmer's Tri-Fold Display Boards. Our boy loves puzzles and we thought he would love making his own.?The Boy and I have done finger paints on the Elmer's Tri-Fold Board before so I wanted a Tri-Fold Foam Board this time.

We browsed school supplies aisle and the crafts section for just the right supplies we needed. You can see all of the pics from our shopping trip and Family Game Night in my?Family Game Night with Sparkles #GluenGlitter Google Album.

Sometimes you make plans for a 4 year old and he loves the idea in the store or during planning?and then sometimes he has plans of his own. We told The Boy about making a puzzle in Walmart and he jumped for joy, but when we told him that we wanted to make one big picture and cut it, he did NOT like that idea at all!

He jumped right in and started making pictures and asking us to guess what it was so we made it into a game like Pictionary.

This was his work of art and because most of these are supposed to be animals, I decided to call this The Farm! ;)

Sometimes you just have to give in to the best laid plans and just have fun with the family. Our boy absolutely loved spending time with us and making art. Who knows, maybe he will let us cut it in a few days and make a puzzle out of it. We still have a lot of space left on the board to make lots more artwork too!
